Apprentice Program

Apprentice Program

In Your Dreams Farm is proud to announce that starting January 2018 we will be offering a fun filled program for our riders. This new apprentice program where our riders are going to select an Equine Care Day. Where our riders will learn what it is like to own and/or lease a horse. This experience can be fun and full of learning.

How our apprentice program works is our riders decide on a day to help around the farm with different tasks. During the time you are helping you are learning how to properly take care of a horse. Leading you to learn all the in’s and outs of what it will take to become the best rider and horse person you can. No matter if you ever want to own or lease a horse or just ride in lessons you will learn as much as you want to about horses. We will be dividing our riders into different breed categories similar to our riding lessons. Everyone will start off as a Shetland and work your way up the breeds to reach the top and become a Hanoverian by how much hard work and commitment you put forth. By working with your barn friends you will grow your bond with not only the horses but your barn friends as well. When you are moving up the breeds you will also be helping the riders that are a lower breed to excel to rise through the breeds as you did.

Apprentice Tasks include but not limited to:

  • Grooming horses
  • Putting away things around the farm
  • Feeding hay and grain to horses
  • Watering the horses
  • Cleaning Tack and organizing the tack

  • We will also want to do an educational learning experience once a month
